I support, if not always actively, any campaign or movement which seeks to protect the rights and freedoms of music creators, promoters, venues and event organisers. If nothing else, the last year has revealed the fragility of the music and party scene. For the people, like myself, who have dedicated their lives to celebrating music and striven to share it with dancefloors and audiences, the continued restrictions are causing damage the likes of which have never been seen. Though I personally don’t stand against policies or measures which can protect the elderly or vulnerable, I do believe that there are sensible exemptions and flexible adaptations to the lazily, generalised policies we are dealing with. I hope that with a mobilized and articulate representative group, seeking to solve issues rather that create or simply live with them, a solution for the global music community can be negotiated and implemented asap.
